Last spring I completed a series of prints/embroideries titled the Ministries of Sustenance. I chose the term Ministries for both of it’s connotations and liked the push and pull of private vs public within the content of the work as well as the title. I came upon this image and story on treehugger, a feed I read regularly and highly recommend, and it seems straight out of the Ministries of Sustenance.
“A new report from the Food Climate Research Network at the University of Surrey says people will have to be rationed to four modest portions of meat and one litre of milk a week if the world is to avoid run-away climate change.”
I’d call it inspiration if it weren’t after the fact. And if my last post on spacecraft got you nervous about the future, then let your mind be lulled by the ridiculous baby steps we’ve taken out of the middle ages. I have to admit though, I love it. It’s weird. It makes me feel funny in a creepy way, but I still love it.
